Luanda - The National Civil Protection and Fire Service (SNPCB) will soon have a fleet of motor-bicycles for rescue work and fire fight.
The information was given Wednesday to ANGOP, in Luanda, by the national commander of the SNPCB, commissioner António Vicente Gimbe.
According to the official, at moment it is being prepared the effectives and necessary equipment to enable the work to start in the scheduled time.
“There are many cases of people being run over in our streets, so if we get a quick way to arrive in the spot and rescue the victims it’ll be more helpful (…)”, he stressed.
The head of the SNPCB, which is an organ linked to the Ministry of the Interior, explained that the motor-bicycles are equipped with a system to fight fires, which includes 50 litres of water and a hose.
Meanwhile, the minister of the Interior, Sebastião Martins, last Tuesday in Luanda paid an assessment visit to the premises of the SNPCB, whose structure has recently benefited from repair works.
