Luanda, – The celebration of the National Police Day, February 28, is taking place at a time the institution is experiencing changes with a view to becoming a highly professional force, with a spirit of mission and sense of citizenship.
This was said Monday in Luanda by the National Defence minister, Cândido Pereira Van-Dunem, in a message of congratulation to the National Police Command, on the occasion of the institution’s 35th anniversary on February 28.
In his message, the Defence minister appeals to the National Police to strengthen their effort, devotion and strong will to secure with efficacy the protection of the citizens and their property.
"May I take this noble opportunity to exhort to the National Police staff to remain firm and unshakable in their noble mission of guaranteeing public order and tranquillity, without damage to such values as patriotism, discipline, character integrity and high professional sense,” reads the message.
The main event of the celebrations of the institution’s 35th anniversary going this year with the theme “National Police in construction of proximity, National Police growing more and protecting better”, will take place on the premises of the Oswaldo Serra Van-Dunem Medium Institute of Police Sciences, in Luanda.
