Luanda
Angola/India trading estimated at USD 5 billion

Luanda – The trade volume between India and Angola is estimated at over USD 5 billion, said Thursday in Luanda, the outgoing ambassador of the Asian country, Ajjampur Ghanashaya, after a meeting with president of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos.

Sectors such as oil, agriculture, diamonds and small and medium industries are the main areas of cooperation, he told the press.

The Indian ambassador, who was at the Presidential Palace to bid farewell to Angolan president, said that three years ago, when it came to the country, the figure was estimated at USD 400 million.

“This means that the two countries have excellent relations of cooperation in various fields”, the diplomat said.

“We will in future enhance the implementation of projects in areas of health, education and telecommunications to the continued improvement of relations between the two countries”, said Ajjampur Ghanashayam.
