Luanda - More than 110.000 new voters were registered nationwide during the first month of the ongoing national electoral registration update campaign in 2010.
This was said on Friday, in Luanda, by the Territory Administration deputy minister, Adão de Almeida.
Adão de Almeida, who was speaking at the end of a monthly assessment meeting of electoral registration update, said that these figures are higher that the expected ones.
The assessment meeting was promoted by the Ministry of Territory Administration and the Inter-ministerial Commission for the Electoral Process (CIPE).
According to him, the ongoing national electoral registration update campaign in 2010 has so far covered approximately 95 percent of the expected registrations.
Regarding monitoring and supervision, Adão de Almeida said the work is positive.
The meeting was attended by heads of the provincial electoral commissions and deputy governors of the country’s 18 provinces.
The campaign to update the electoral register for the year 2010 is being distributed for a period of two months. It was launched on July 30 and the ending is scheduled for the 30th of September this year.
