Luanda - The Angolan government will approve a new governance model for Luanda that should give better solutions to the current problems of the province.
This was said in a press conference, on Friday, by the State Minister and Head of the Civil Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Carlos Feijó.
In the meeting, which served to present the assessment balance of governance of the last quarter of 2010, Carlos Feijo said that a strategy board and technical committee were set up in order to monitor the technical problems of Luanda, as part of the restructuring of the current administrative model of this province.
According to him, “the problems of Luanda are not reflected on how the provincial government and municipal administrations are structured”, that is why exceptional measures were taken while the process of institutional reorganisation is happening.
“There is no technical capacity of provincial and municipal administrations to tackle the technical problems of the city, a situation that was evident during the recent rains”, said the government official.
Thus, Carlos Feijó considered as priority the preparation of the province for the next rains, through technical training of personnel and resources.
