Ondjiva – Italian ambassador to Angola, Josefe Mistreia, Saturday considered his two day working visit to southern Cunene province as timely and positive, following his discussion with locals officials on projects of common interest.
Addressing the press at the end of the visit, the italian diplomat stated that the two days of "intense work" enabled him to assess the functioning of the health services in Cunene province, namely in Mucope, where italian doctors are working in the hospital of Chiulo.
Ambassador Mistreia recalled that one of italian largest health service related non-governamental organizations operationg in Africa, "CUAMM", is implementing its projects in Cunene, adding that the italian embassy is planning to train health workers of the
region under the upgrading process of the health services in the province.
During his stay in Cunene, the italian ambassador met governor, Antonio Didalelwa, the local healt officials and visited several health services
Established in 1950, CUAMM operates in seven sub-saharan african countries, namely: Angola, Ethiopia, Kenia, Mozambique, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
