Uíge – Angolan deputy minister of Territory Administration for Institutional and Electoral Issues, Adão de Almeida, on Friday in Uíge city said that updating the electoral registration process is part of the national democratic scenario.
Speaking at the official launching ceremony of the electoral registration updating process, Adão de Almeida recalled that this action is meant for a group of specific citizens who will turn 18 years old by December, so as for them to obtain their voters' cards and vote in the forthcoming polls.
He added that after having successfully held the 2008 legislative elections, Angolans need to maintain the national democratic aspect, a reason why "voters will be periodically called to decide and choose those in better conditions of leading the country".
He said that the electoral registration updating includes every Angolan citizen without voters' cards, as long as they are above 18 years of age.
His speech was followed by the official launching ceremony, which was chaired by the minister of Territory Administration, Bornito de Sousa, which was marked by the registration of the first person on the queue, the citizen Mariana Nicolau Costino, whose card was given by the aforesaid top official.
