Luanda – The Labour minister of Senegal, Diakaria Diaw, arrived this afternoon in Luanda to participate as an observer at the 8th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP).
Speaking to press at the International Airport “4 de Fevereiro”, the Senegalese minister said that his country is willing to help in the materialisation of the final resolutions of that summit, in his capacity as observer member of the community.
He said that he cannot opine on other issues related to the functioning of the organisation due to the status of his country.
Senegal is the third observer member of the ortuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP) since 2008. The Equatorial Guinea and Mauritius were admitted to the CPLP, as observer States, in the Bissau Summit, held in 2006.
The summit, to be held Friday at the Talatona Convention Centre under the slogan “Solidarity in Diversity”, is preceded by the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the community, which is taking place.
CPLP groups Angola, Sao Tome and Principe, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Portugal, Brazil and East Timor.
