Praia - Cape Verde's Premier, José Maria Neves, expressed in Praia city, the interest in seeing reinforced the intervention of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) in the resolution of the problem in Guinea Bissau, ANGOP has learnt.
The official said that his country expects from this organisation (CPLP) a strong support in the resolution of the situation in Guinea Bissau.
In his opinion, there is the need for the resolution of this problem because it does not only affect Guinea Bissau, but also other CPLP and the ECOWAS states.
José Maria Neves has acknowledged that the organisation had an important role in 1998 in the resolution of the crisis in Guinea Bissau, but its intervention capacity must be greater, adding that the local crisis is due to failure in changing the armed forces into a regular army.
"After the national liberation struggle it was not possible to transform the (liberation) movement into a regular army of a law- abiding country, therefore, currently there is not a clear submission of the armed forces to the civilian power", he explained.
