Luanda - The 8th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community ( CPLP) ended Friday in Luanda, with the signing of Luanda Declaration.
The signatories of Declaration are the heads of State of Angola, Portugal, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, representatives from Brazil and East Timor.
The participants also adopted the plan of action of Brasília for promotion, dissemination and projection of Portuguese language and declarations of homage to the late poet Alda Espírito Santo, the National Assembly Speaker of Sao Tome and Principe and the first Speaker of Parliamentary Assembly of CPLP, Francisco Silva, and Noble Prize Winner of Literature, José Saramago.
Adopted was also a declaration of solidarity to the Brazilian president Lula da Silva who is absent, as well as Mozambique, the next country to host the 9th summit, in 2012.
