Luanda – The visit of the Portuguese head of State, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, scheduled for July 18, will show the excellent relations between both countries, according to the European nation’s ambassador to Angola, Francisco Ribeiro Telles.
The diplomat, who was speaking to Angop, said that this visit of the Portuguese president Cavaco Silva will be historical.
"If we look back to the past, we have never had so good relations as they are now. The visit held by the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, to Lisbon (Portugal), in April 2009, can be regarded also as an historical moment in the relations of our countries", said the ambassador.
The source said that this visit of Portuguese president represents the retribution of the Angolan leader’s visit to the European nation.
The ambassador explained that the visit will have a particular focus on business issues and the delegation will travel to some Angolan provinces.
The main goal of this visit to some provinces is to strengthen the presence and activity of the Portuguese companies, not only in Luanda, but also all over Angolan territory.
During his stay in Angola, the Portuguese head of State, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, will attend the 8th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP) to be held this July 23, in Luanda.
