Angola at session on women status


Luanda, - Angolan vice-minister of Family and Women Promotion, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto, is in New York (USA) to attend the United Nations 54th session of the Commission on the Status of Women.

 

According to agenda, the vice minister will participate in the panel on "access and participation of women and girls in education, training, science and technology, including the promotion of access to full employment and decent work.

 

Ana Paulo do Sacramento Neto is leading her country’s delegation at the meeting scheduled  to end on 12 March.

 

The event started with reviewing the 15 years of "Implementation of Beijing's Platform of Action and the Final Documents of the Special Session of the UN General Assembly on the sharing of experiences and good practices" in the ambit of that platform. 


  
The meeting will also analyse the problem of "Violence against women", the "Implementing the internationally agreed goals relating to the gender balance" and "The role of national mechanisms for gender balance."

 

The Commission on the Status of Women meets every year to discuss issues related to  women's situation in the world.
