Luanda – The National Assembly (Parliament) speaker, Paulo Kassoma, returned Sunday night in Luanda from Windhoek (Namibia), where he attended the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of that country’s independence, in representation of the head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
Paulo Kassoma was welcomed at Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport by MP, Carlos M Magalhães.
The Angolan delegation included the secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, George Chicoty, MPs Irene Neto and António França "Ndalu", the director for Africa and Middle East of the Foreign Ministry, Nelson Cosme, and Maria Eugénia Neto, widow of the first Angolan president, Agostinho Neto.
President Pohamba, who took over the Namibian presidency for the first time in 2004, replacing Sam Nujoma, won the presidential election of November 27-28 2009 with 75 percent of the votes.
His party, Southwest Africa People Organisation won the legislative election with an overwhelming majority,.
