Luanda – The Angolan head of State, in his capacity as chief of the Government, has the power to control the enforcement of the Public Probity Law, recently passed by the National Assembly (Parliament).
This was said Saturday in Luanda by the head of the “Igreja de Jesus Cristo sobre a Terra” (Kimbanguista), rev. Santos Diangani.
Speaking to Angop, the church leader said the head of State must set up mechanisms for control of management of public funds by appointed officials.
According to rev. Santos Diangani, "the main controller of the public probity law is the people itself, as the politicians once elected for public posts must listen to the citizens.
"The people has the duty to control the enforcement of the public probity law and those elected have the power and must listen to the people”, he stated.
To the rev. Santos Diangani, the Angolan State is the whole population of the country and those who are appointed must be serious about the development of the country.
"We wee go voting, we must elect the best leaders of the country in order to improve the population’s living standards in all doamins like health, education and construction of infrastructures”, he also said.
The Public Probity Law sets a set of norms that involve duties, liabilities and obligations on the part of civil servants.
