Austrian ambassador presents credentials to Angolan president

Luanda – The new Austrian ambassador to Angola, Maria Christine Moya Goetsch, is presenting on Monday morning in Luanda her credentials to Angolan head of State, José Eduardo do Santos, for a four year’s term in the country.

Speaking to Angop at Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport on Sunday, the diplomat considered as good the relations between the two countries.

According to her, there is a strong trade growing between Angola and Austria,  with good strengthening perspective, through the exchange of governmental and entrepreneurial delegations between both countries.

Maria Goetsch considered as very important the relations between the Angolan and Austrian governments, valorising and praising the work that has been done in the country by the honorary consul, Angolan entrepreneur António Mosquito, who, according to her, has been working hard to have bilateral relations in various fields strengthened.

On the other hand, the diplomat said that an Austrian entrepreneurial delegation is expected to visit Angolan in May 2010, for contacts with local authorities, business people and members of the civil society, as part of the effort to further develop existing bilateral co-operation.

During her stay in the country, the diplomat will meet with some resident ambassadors, politicians and members of Angolan Government, in order to appraise the implementation of bilateral co-operation relations and obtain ideas for future projects.

Maria Goetsch (51), holds a Law degree and is currently based in Harare (Zimbabwe). She is as from Monday representing her country in five states of the region, namely Angola, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The diplomat was received at Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by the Austrian honorary ambassador to Angola, António Mosquito and by some members of the referred diplomatic mission in Luanda.
