Parliament speaker extols woman dignity, honour

Luanda - The speaker of the National Assembly, António Paulo Kassoma, on Friday here praised the deeds of great dignity and honour shown by the Angolan women, Angop has learnt.


Paulo Kassoma said so at the opening ceremony of a round-table on ‘’The Role of
Parliaments towards the Respect of Women Rights 15 Years After Beijing.


The official y quoted as example, Queen Njinga Mbandi (XVII century), as a great fighter and diplomat, that during years defended territorial integrity of her Kingdom and cultural and traditional values that she represented before the colonial administration that attempted to implement its project.


He also mentioned the participation and contribution, with arts and courage, of the woman in all process of national liberation struggle, by claiming the values and identity of the Angolans.


Paulo Kassmo also said that for peace achievement in 2002 was decided the political wish of the Angolans in overcoming their obstacles and building a country based on equality of opportunism, mainly creating conditions for woman participation in political and public life.


On the occasion, Paulo Kassoma congratulated the Angolan women.
