Benguela - The bill on Domestic Violence, analysed by the Cabinet Council and submitted to the National Assembly for approval, will guarantee the protection of the victims countrywide, ANGOP has learnt.
It was said on Saturday here by Angola's minister of Justice, Guilhermina Prata, when speaking at the closing ceremony of the second national meeting on legal counselling, held on November 26-27, in Benguela Province.
At the act the minister also said that the victims of violence are important and have right to protection, therefore the Angolan Cabinet has been making efforts to materialize this proposal.
According to her, with the law on domestic violence the Cabinet has been taking a set of legislative measures towards the fight against this phenomenon, through the promotion of a culture for citizenship and equality, reinforcement of information and training campaigns, support and counselling to the victims in a logic of reintegration and autonomy.
The minister Guilhermina Prata said that the Angolan Cabinet will not give up from an effective fight, by mobilizing the public authorities as well as the organisations of the civil society, to preserve the dignity of the people, whenever they are victims of this crime.
The official explained that the bill against Domestic Violence is intended to be a testimony of the invitation of our Cabinet for unity and synergies around these efforts and synergies.
