Luanda - The minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes Júnior, Monday in Luanda said that the Angolan Government will be engaged this year in consolidation of macroeconomic successes achieved in late 2009.
"Last year was marked by the imbalance at the world market, but fortunately we got to the end of that period with a smooth landing, "Manuel Júnior told the press at the end of the inauguration ceremony of the new government team, appointed Friday.
To achieve this, the minister of State mentioned, among other goals, the diversifying of the economy.
According to him, the non-oil sector creates more jobs and can contribute to sharp decline of poverty and hunger and improve the quality of the people’s living standards.
Meanwhile, the minister called for the need to make the institutions stronger, credible and competent so that the policies outlined by the executive be translated into practical actions. He also urged for partnership between the public and private sectors.
