Former premier elected Parliament speaker

 

Luanda – The former Angolan Prime minister, António Paulo Kassoma, was elected National Assembly (Parliament) speaker on Tuesday in Luanda.


The new Parliament speaker was elected with 191 votes in favour, nine against, two abstentions and one null.

 
Under the new Constitution, the Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, named António Paulo Kassoma as new speaker.


The election was made by a secret vote.
