Luanda – The Angolan Finance minister, Carlos Alberto Lopes, Monday in Luanda, mentioned as main priorities for his department to work to improve people’s living, through the contribution of State’s financial management instruments.
The official was speaking to journalists after he was sworn in as Finance minister, during a ceremony presided over by Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
According to him, the great mission of the Finance Ministry is to outline policies of public resources management, so that the instruments of financial management, such as the treasury, patrimony and budget contribute to the wellbeing of the people.
The minister stated as well that a programme of restructuring and reorganisation of the public finances will be implemented.
He announced as well that his sector will receive technical expertise from an international consultancy company.
As the minister said, the technical assistance will cover the reserve bank (BNA) and the bank tasked with operating the treasury’s unique account, the Savings and Credit Bank (BPC).
