Luanda – Angolan head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, defended the need to develop a sustainable economy with regional balance and international integration, as only through continued increase of the income together with equal distribution, will be possible to reach people’s well-being.
José Eduardo dos Santos stressed this while promulgating the Constitution of the Republic of Angola.
“The fundamental objective of all economic and social policies is, really, to increase the well-being of Angolan”, he said.
Therefore, said president Dos Santos, public policies and the ways to be adopted for their use have to guarantee political, macroeconomic stability, basic supporting infrastructure, knowledge, technology and raw material.
According to the head of State, public policies must also fight against poverty, promote the assistance and social providence, guaranteeing protection for disabled people, elderly people and former combatants, through social integration and children’s integral right protection, eradicating the social phenomenon of street children and avoiding child labour.
In the other hand, he stressed, juridical and institutional sceneries must also be consolidated to allow the urbanisation of the State’s land reserve, so that either organized families, or cooperative societies and institutions can be able to build houses.
Speaking about family’s protection and gender equality, the president said that, the government will promote actions to permit men and women to have the same opportunities, rights and responsibilities in all aspects of economic life.
“Concerning the youth, we will work so that they become well prepared in terms of scientific, technical, professional and cultural aspects, looking for and promoting common values and respect our cultural diversity”, stressed the Angolan head of State.
