Luanda – The government has published, in the state gazette, the creation of the National Archive of Angola, in order to adhere to the world tendencies of archiving policies and abide by the instructions of the International Council on Archives.
Part of the 1st series of the of the state gazette of last September 16, made available to ANGOP this Saturday, in Luanda, the National Archive of Angola, abbreviated as ANA, is a public institution of juridical personality, administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy.
It mainly aims at co-ordinating the national archiving policy and monitoring the functioning of the National Archive System.
During a cabinet meeting, among other tasks, the government considered “ANA” as a cultural and scientific research institution meant for preserving the national memory and promoting studies in the field of social sciences, and is under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture.
It also has a director general, a managing council, a technical-consultative council and fiscal council.
