Luanda - The Luanda secretary of the ruling MPLA party, Bento Francisco Sebastiao Bento “Bento Bento” was on Thursday re-elected for one more five-year term.
This was during the 10th conference for appraisal and renewal of mandates of the party.
Bento Bento was elected unanimously during the meeting attended by 463 delegates.
The meeting that was attended by MPLA secretary general, Julião Mateus Paulo "Dino Matross", also elected three candidates for the ruling party Central Committee. They are Manuel Teodoro Quarta, Catarina Bewa and Bento dos Santos Kangamba.
Fragata de Morais, who was the information secretary of the MPLA Provincial Committee, has been elected as substitute candidate to the party’s Central Committee.
The participants also elected the 115 members for the Luanda Provincial Committee, plus another 115 delegates to the party’s 6th Congress set for December this year.
During the cession, the militants approved a motion of support for the president of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, for his achievements in the promotion of peace and national reconciliation.
They reaffirmed their unconditional support to the candidature of José Eduardo dos Santos to the post of president of the ruling party and of the Republic of Angola.
