Luanda - The Angolan embassy in Côte d’Ivoire Friday stressed the state-run Angola news agency (ANGOP)'s contribute, characterised by a hard mission to keep informed the public in the country and abroad.
The praise is contained in a congratulation message on the 34th anniversary of Angop, on October 30, in which the diplomats acknowledge the commitment of the media organ’s professionals in the transmission of information with speed and responsibility on the Angolan situation in the areas of reconstruction and national reconciliation, re-launch of economy and other events.
“We congratulate the Angop workers and board on celebrating the 34th anniversary of its creation”, reads the message.
The source also encouraged the company's board to continue making efforts for the modernisation and staff training.
The Angola Press Agency (Angop) is a public company of great dimension, endowed with juridical status and administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy.
ANGOP was established in Luanda in July 1975, having its first dispatch been released on October 30 the same year.
It has as its task to gather, process and distribute news items locally and abroad, based on an objective reporting on national and international reality.
