Luanda – The Angolan minister of Education, António Burity da Silva Neto, is attending since last Saturday the International Frankfurt Seminar on “Inclusion of competences for life and work in primary education curriculum”, ANGOP learnt Sunday, in Luanda.
According to a document from the Ministry of Education, made available to ANGOP, the seminar predicted to conclude this Monday aims at creating a “tools box” with curricular innovations designed for education, peace and fight against poverty in sub-Saharan Africa.
The forum, of technical and scientific nature, has as objective the sharing of experiences on the successful processes of top-down and bottom-up discussions to define and implement the necessary political and educative changes.
The project, expected to start in 2004, initially was focused on the fight against poverty and counted on the involvement of the ministries of Education of Angola, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Republic of Congo, Mali, Mauritius, Mozambique, Niger and Rwanda.
Angola was one of countries selected, alongside Kenya and Mali to offer the necessary political support to the project, after one year of team-work involving experts from the ministries of Education of the abovementioned countries.
Angolan minister of Education is expected to address the forum on Monday.
