UNHCR representative praises Home Affairs Ministry

Luanda – The representative of United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR), Bohdan Nahajlo praised on Friday in Luanda Angolan Ministry of Home Affairs for the appeals launched to people to avoid hostile manifestation against Congolese citizens living in Angola.

The official of the UN refugee agency, who was speaking to Angop, considered these appeals were decisive to avoid retaliations against Congolese following the expulsion of Angolans from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

According to the official reports about 40,000 Angolans were repatriated from DRC, adding that most of them entered through northern Zaire province.
