Luanda - The Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs Assunção dos Anjos Sunday in Luanda said that the mechanisms to increase and implement dialogue for border issue between Angola and DR Congo have been found.

 
The minister said this to the press at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, shortly after his arrival from Kinshasa, DR Congo, where he represented President José Eduardo dos Santos, at the 14th ordinary session of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).

 
“I had the honour to bear the message from the Angolan head of Sate José Eduardo dos Santos, to his Congolese counterpart, Joseph Kabila. Obviously the message had to do with the moment the two countries are going through, the border issue”, said the minister.

 
According to him, the participants at the meeting have reiterated the mechanisms for increasing and implementation of dialogue with a view to a solution through dialogue, taking into account the level of bilateral ties, for eradication of problems that had emerged.

 
“There is strong political will to this effect. The necessary explanation for our country was addressed, as Angola actually had repatriated, in term of migratory policy, the illegal foreign citizens on the whole, regardless their nationality", recalled the top diplomat.

 
Assunção dos Anjos noted that the expelled citizens were also engaged in the illegal economic activity (exploration of natural resources) and trade.
 

In its turn, said the minister, DRC, which generalised the action, responded by expelling citizens, some of whom have resided more than 40 years in that country.

 
On 13 October the two heads of State had the first contact, with the first message from the President José Eduardo dos Santos to Joseph Kabila.

“Angola will not and never give up effectively its duty to protect its natural resources, not even its immigration law; the country will not give up its right to repatriate citizens performing activity which does not benefit the country", concluded the minister.
