Soyo - MPs with the Africa, Caribbean, Pacific and the European Union (ACP/EU)’s joint assembly on Sunday in Soyo District, northern Zaire Province, said that the liquefied gas project is an added value for the country.
The project, according to them, is conceived for the development of the country's natural gas, as one of the best at the level of the African continent and may contribute significantly in thedevelopment of economy and Angola's national reconstruction process.
This statement belongs to the Speaker of the Parliament of Mozambique, Eduardo Joaquim Mulembwe, that was part of the ACP/EU visiting team that toured the plant where the implementation of the project, in Soyo, is taking placce.
He commended the Angolan government for implementing a project that he considered as very important for the country's economy and other areas.
On his turn, Charles Milupi, from Zambia, said that this project may improve living standards of the population in the region, being that additional initiatives will also contribute to the development of commerce, industry and workers in the countryside and cities.
Meanwhile, the chairperson of the Parliament’s commission for constitutional/ juridical issues and regulations, Ferreira Pinto, said the visit was fruitful once MPs got satisfied with what they heard and saw, considering the execution of the works of the project that are in the final stage.
The visiting team was received at the palace by the governor Pedro Sebastião, that briefed them of the implementation of the governmental programme, under the programme of increasing the supply of essential goods to the population and rehabilitation of social infrastructures destroyed during the armed conflict.
