Namibian ambassador gives Swapo victory

Luanda – The Namibian ambassador to Angola, Lineekela J. Mboti, said Friday in Luanda, that the victory of the ruling Swapo party in the ongoing general elections in the country has never and will never be called in question.

The diplomat was speaking to Angop on the ongoing voting that opened Friday and will go until Saturday in Namibia, with the participation of 12 political parties.

He on the occasion said he was informed that the voting assemblies were open since 07:00 am, going until 09:00 pm and that the process was going smoothly, with a large people turn out.

About 1.1 million voters will be casting their ballot until Saturday, to elect a 72 members assembly from the 14 political parties and the president, out of 12 contesting candidates.

These are the fourth general elections in Namibia since the country became independent from the apartheid regime of South Africa in 1990.
