Luanda – The Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, Thursday in Luanda inaugurated the new headquarters of the External Intelligence Services (SIE).
Accompanied by the SIE general director, André de Oliveira João Sango, and other officials, the Angolan president toured the building, where he watched a video of the infra-structure, regarded as fundamental for the intelligence services.
On the occasion, André Sango welcomed the president and expressed gratitude for the support granted for the construction of the infrastructure, composed of four blocs and several rooms, such as offices, gymnasium, swimming pool, leisure area, dining-hall and others.
According to the official, the assistance granted by president José Eduardo dos Santos was crucial for the approval of the project.
The inauguration of the building, estimated at over USD 78 million and built in two years, was also witnessed by the speaker of the Angolan Parliament, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, the Supreme Court chief justice, Cristiano André, the Luanda governor, Francisca do Espírito Santos and other entities.
