Roma - A communications centre named after Angola will start to operate from Tuesday at the headquarters of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), in the Italian capital, Rome.
According to the Angolan minister of Agriculture, Afonso Pedro Kanga, this represents the recognition of all work the country carried out to help accomplish the FAO’s goals.
“FAO is an organisation which recognises the role and the performance of the country regarding the eradication of poverty and starvation in the world”, said the government official. The Head of States and governments will be meeting Monday in Rome to discuss issues concerning food security.
The Angolan prime minister will represent the head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, at the meeting which will go until November 18.
