Angolan community commemorates independence

Mongu - The Angolan community in the Mongu region, Republic of Zambia, will this Wednesday celebrate Angola's 34th independence anniversary, during a socialisation dinners that will also assemble senior Zambian government officials.

The socialisation follows political, diplomatic, cultural and sport activities carried out by Angolans abroad, as well as visits to border checkpoints.

In this aspect, the consulate general of Angola in Mongu welcomes, in a communiqué, the 34 years of National Independence.

The Zambian western province of Mongu shares its borders with the Angolan provinces of Kuando Kubango and Moxico, one of the bulwarks of the liberation struggle and the conquering of peace.

In the other segment of the communiqué, the consulate general adds that it will soon grant an interview on the Angolan migration phenomenon, a result of a research that started in August 2000.

Most Angolan emigrants in Zambia are dedicated to farming.
