Parliament holds constitutional drafts presentation ceremony

 

Luanda - The National Assembly (Parliament) will hold next Wednesday in Luanda's "Talatona" Convention Centre, the official presentation of the three proposed constitutional texts.

 


According to a press note delivered Tuesday to Angop, the event will bring togethergovernment officials, MPs, National Assembly officials, members of civil society and religious leaders.

 


The source explained that after the formal presentation, the drafts will be simultaneously submitted to the nine districts of Luanda on November 5, followed by similar synchronised acts in the other provinces of the country on November 6-7.

 


However, the Constitutional Commission has set up ten teams comprising MPs and technical commission members who will travel around the country on the dates mentioned.

 


The document added that 15 days after the presentation of the texts, the period of national debates will follow, during which the various sectors of the society will be free to submit their contributions.

 


The participants will also address issues like “social constitution”, “family in constitution”, “cultural constitution”, “economic constitution”, “judicial constitution”, “constitution and freedom of religion”, “constitution and public administration”, as well as “constitution and local administration”.
