Malanje – The Angolan ombudsman, Paulo Tchipilica, expressed satisfaction at the rehabilitation of the prison of the northern Malanje province, due to the organisational level he found there.
Paulo Tchipilica was speaking to the press as part of a two-day work visit to Malanje province last week, during which he met with local prison inmates. The ombudsman was also happy about the new infrastructure in Damba district prison, where prisoners will be transferred to.
On the occasion, Paulo Tchipilica encouraged the prisoners of the two prisons that he visited to remain calm, wait for better days, not to feel marginalised and avoid crimes after they serve their sentence.
Paulo Tchiplica was in Malanje province on a mission of clarification of the role of the ombudsman regarding the authorities of the province.
He thus held tow clarification sessions with members of the local government, chieftains, political entities, clerics and members of the civil society.
