Luanda - The deputy chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), gen. Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, Monday laid a wreath by the tomb of the unknown soldier, at the Luanda’s "Santa Ana"s cemetery, as part of the celebrations of the All Souls' Day.
Angop learnt that generals, high ranking officers, subordinates and soldiers from the various branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (Army, Navy, and Air Force) also laid flowers, in memory of all soldiers killed in the defence of motherland.
On the occasion, gen. Nunda told press that the gesture is intended primarily to honour the memory of all military and National Police staff who gave their lives in the defence of the national independence and territorial integrity.
Also at "Camama" cemetery, FAA officials paid tribute to all deceased staff by placing flowers on the tomb of the unknown soldier.
The Day of the Dead or All Souls Day is celebrated on 02 November, by the Catholic faithful, immediately after the Day of All Saints.
