Stockholm - The Angolan deputy Foreign minister, Exalgina Gambôa, briefed the Swedish government, on the country’s current political and economic situation, highlighting the recent mass repatriation of Angolans who lived for many years in the Democratic Republic of Congo (RDC).
Exalgina Gamboa was speaking in Stockholm on the fringes of the European Development Days events, held recently in that country.
Speaking to Swedish government officials, the deputy minister touched on issues related to the European Union and other matters of the international actuality.
The official was in Sweden at the head of an Angolan multi-sectoral delegation attending the events that discussed matters related to citizenship and development, media role, human rights, sustainable development, clean technologies and other topics.
Grouped in panels, the events brought together about 7000 participants and representatives of 300 civic and non-governmental organisations, including heads of State, ministers and Noble Prize laureates.
The Angolan delegation included ambassador Domingos Culolo, representatives of the Ministries of Economy, Justice, Foreign Affairs and a member of the NGO Cause Supportive.
Sweden is currently chairing the presidency of the European Union since June 1, 2009.
