Luanda - The Constitutional Commission of the National Assembly will hold next Tuesday in Luanda its 13th ordinary session to prepare the solemn ceremony for submission of the three constitutional drafts, on Wednesday.

The Constitutional Commission's spokesperson, Daniel Samuel, said that the ceremony will bring together entities from various central institutions of the State and of the civil society, and will set the start of a series of public presentations of the three constitutional drafts, through short texts.

In accordance with the calendar approved by the Commission, at its latest session, held on 27 October, the documents will be presented simultaneously in Luanda's nine districts, next Thursday, and in other country's provinces, between Friday and Saturday the same week, explained the official.

To this purpose, he added, the organ in charge of drafting the future Constitution has created 10 integrated groups of MPs and technical commission members, who will tour all provinces in order to present the texts of the constitutional drafts.

He explained that after the formal presentation, the drafts will be simultaneously submitted to the nine districts of Luanda on November 5, followed by similar synchronised acts in the other provinces of the country on November 6-7.

Daniel Samuel stated that to this end, the Constitutional Commission has set up ten teams comprising MPs and technical commission members who will travel around the country on the dates mentioned.

On the other hand, the source announced that the Constitutional Commission will meet again on Tuesday, November 3, for the appointed MPs to standardise the wording in the presentation of the texts.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Constitutional Commission, Bornito de Sousa, who chaired the Monday and Tuesday sessions, said 15 days after the presentation of the texts, the period of national debates will follow, during which the various sectors of the society will be free to submit their contributions.

He mentioned December 22 this year as the likely ending of the consultation phase.
