Luanda
Citizens have more opportunities to defend their rights

Luanda – The Angolan people will be able to discuss with more propriety their rights, as well as help the State to better define the Justice system.

This was defended by the Angolan Ombudsman, Paulo Tjipilica, when speaking to Angop on the presentation of the three draft constitution bills, by the National Assembly (Parliament).

According to Paulo Tjipilica, the emergence of habeas corpus and habeas data figures constitute innovation that should be deeply defined and debated during discussion sessions, by the population, in order to improve the Justice system of the country.

Asked about the most suitable system for the country, he considered to be extemporaneous to issue any opinion, because the three proposals (presidential, semi-presidential and presidential parliamentary) presented have not been examined yet.

The three drafts back the existence of an Ombudsman under the judiciary system, as well as a quicker protective custody.
