Luanda
South African ambassador happy with Angolan peace, disarmament process

Luanda – The South African ambassador to Angola, Themba Kubheka, expressed satisfaction at Angola’s seven years of peace and the success of the ongoing disarmament of civilians in illegal possession of fire-arms.

The South African diplomat was speaking to Angop on the occasion of the “World Disarmament and Peace Week”, which is annually celebrated from 24 to 31 October.

To Themba Kubheka, the Angolan Government’s effort to consolidate peace in the country has been followed with satisfaction.

The diplomat also considers as a reason for satisfaction the fact that people have massively joined the disarming programme.

The World Disarmament Week and Peace that goes from 24 to 30 October is marked to celebrate the foundation of the United Nations (UN), on October 24, 1945.
