Cabinda
Police chief happy with crime fight

 

Cabinda - Angola's National Police commander, Ambrósio de Lemos, Saturday in northern Cabinda province expressed satisfaction at the fight against crime, the prevailing public order and organisation in the province.

 

Ambrósio de Lemos was assessing the 72-hour working visit to the province, intended to learn about the organisation and functioning of the local police and the preparations to secure order during the African Football Cup of Nations (CAN-2010).

 

The National Police chief said that despite some problems there are efforts to improve the staff conditions, including the construction of new border posts and stations.

 

Ambrosio de Lemos revealled that during a meeting with traditional authorities of four districts , Cabinda, Cacongo, Buco-Zau and Belize he was asked to have the number of police staff reinforced.

 

During his visit to Cabinda, the police chief visited the local headquarters of the corporation, the department of the criminal investigation, riot police and handed over boats to the fiscal police and laid the foundation stone for the construction of the new headquarters of the maritime police and a station at the locality of Lombe.
