Dundo, - The minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, announced Thursday in Dundo City, north-eastern Lunda Norte Province, the rehabilitation of the Bala-Bala Archaeological Museum.

According to Rosa Cruz e Silva, the project includes the restoration of two other historic monuments, located in Chitato village.

She also said that the Archaeological Station of Bala Bala, which is an extension of the Dundo Museum, as well as the other archaeological stations, will be activated to continue to develop their work, with the aim of re-launching this activity.

"The museums are not just spaces where important objects are kept, but they have the duty to study the contents of each object” she stressed.

Thus, she said, it is of extreme importance the reactivation and creation of spaces that can become great research centres.

She also informed that the reopening of Dundo Museum is a concern of the provincial government and is part of the priorities agenda of the Education Ministry.
