Literary work on Agostinho Neto marks National Hero's Day

Namibe – The presentation of the literary work on the life and work of Agostinho Neto, to happen on Sunday at the amphitheatre of the Polytechnic High School of Namibe, shall be the main cultural attraction of the programme under the National Hero's Day, September 17.

 

The academic and university lecturer Ismael Mateus, was designated to present the referred work, whose ceremony shall be preceded by the recital of poems and ballads by local artists.

 

According to the programme on this date, which was disclosed to ANGOP this Saturday, a wreath shall be placed by the governor of the south-western Namibe province, Cândida Celeste, on the monument in honour of anonymous heroes situated in the outskirts of the military instruction centre.

 

Sports activities, such as capoeira, soccer tournament and gospel music afternoon session, will complete the programme dedicated to the National Hero and founder of the Angolan nation, António Agostinho Neto.
