Benguela – The second edition of the International Jazz Festival of the central Benguela province, set for 24-25 August, was presented to the press on Tuesday in one of the local hotels.
Speaking to Angop, the owner of "Rasgado's Club Jazz", Francisco Rasgado said that during two days the festival will count on the participation of ten bands from Angola, Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique, Cape Verde, USA, France and Swaziland.
He said that it is guaranteed the participation of the bands Marku Ribas (Brazil), Café Negro (Angola), Manuel Beleza Jazz terceto (Portugal), Yanga Project (Mozambique) and Spirit Indigenous of Swaziland.
In addition, Francisco Rasgado said that the cultural programme also include the participation of Angolan Kizua Gourgel, American Chico Freeman, Brazilian Dino Rangel, Cape Verdean Mariana Ramos and the official DJ of the event This Way.
According to him, this event aims to contribute to promote artistic development, mainly the quality of composing music.
He said that the programme of the festival also includes the holding of workshops on the origin of Jazz.
