"Tshigundy" group wins traditional dance contest

Ondjiva – "Tshingudy" group of Cahama district, southern Cunene province Thursday won with 247 points the 5th edition of traditional dance contest held in the region.

 


While the traditional dance group Kuatonhati, of Kwanhama district ranked second with184 points.

 


Nascente do Sol do Chiedi was placed third (143).

 


The winner received AKz 75,000. The second and third placed groups, got AKz 50,000 and 30,000 respectively.

 


The remaining groups took AKz 16,000 as prize for their participation.


The annual contest marks the festivity of Cunene province's day, commemorated on 10 July.
