Brazil-Angola Culture House organises literature meeting

Luanda – The Brazil-Angola Culture House will organise this Wednesday, in Luanda, a meeting dubbed Literature Coffee under the topic “The first steps of Queen Njinga”.

 

In an interview to ANGOP, the director of the Brazil-Angola Culture House, Tessa Pisconti, stressed that the literature meeting will have as main speaker the Angolan writer John Bella, who will analyse his last novel entitled “The first steps of Queen Njinga”, published in 2011.

 

According to the source, the novel of historic character portrays the role of Queen Njinga Mbandi, an icon of Angolan resistance against colonisation and slavery.

 

John Bela was born in Luanda, where he started writing literature works at the age of 12.
