Luanda – The fourth CD by Angolan musician Wiza will be released in September this year with the stamp of “Mayanga Produções” that will also run a formal ceremony of presentation of the work.
Speaking to Angop, Wiza said the album will contain fresh songs written by him, but would not say how many hits the CD will carry.
The singer said the CD is being recorded in the Mayanga Productions studios, in Luanda, in Brazil and in the United States.
Meanwhile, Wiza announced for July this year a live show, during which he will present some of the hits contained in the coming CD.
Wiza (35) was born in Angola’s northern Uige province. He travelled to Luanda in 1984 because of the civil war then ravaging the whole country.
He started his career in Luanda in 1990, where he participated in various infant festivals.
In 1997, he was invited to join a number of musicians with “Editora Graffiti” with which he participated in the “Angola, Sonhos de Esperança” project, together with “Vozes Negras” band and the group NME, including other artists.
Four years later, Wiza was invited by producer João Alexandre to record “Kyntsiona”, the CD that paved the way for the consolidation of his career.
In 2004, helped by Brazilian producer Reinaldo Maia, he published the CD he named “África Yaya”, before recording in 2008 the third work he called “Bacongo”.
