Luanda - The secretary general of the ruling MPLA party, Julião Mateus Paulo "Dino Matrosse", Wednesday in Luanda highlighted the importance of the book entitled "Peço a palavra - peças de oratoria parlamentar", by writer Jofre Rocha, pseudonym of Roberto de Almeida, to the history of the Angolan Parliament .
The ruling party official said so to the press at the end of the launch of the book.
Dino Matrosse underlined that the time the speeches contained in the book were delivered was very remarkable for the history, consolidation of national unity and peace prevailing in the country.
According to the politician, at the time, the country had not yet achieved peace (attained on April 4, 2002).
However, Angola was an example, as both the opposition parties’ parliamentarians and those representing the Government were working to make peace to become a reality, said the official, stressing a continued consolidation of union.
He noted that the work will enrich the knowledge of young people, especially with regard to debates held at the National Assembly from 1996 to 2008.
In his turn, also highlighting the book, the MP João Melo said it will be helpful for those interested to follow the political situation in Angola in the post-election period 1992- 2008.
The ceremony of release of the book was witnessed, among others, by the Angolan vice President, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
