Vice minister hails good relations with CPLP members

Luanda - The deputy minister of Culture, Cornélio Caley, Tuesday in Luanda said that multilateral cooperation in the field of culture with member States of the Portuguese-speaking Countries Community (CPLP) is good, for enabling the exchange in different sectors.

Speaking to ANGOP on the sidelines of the 8th meeting of Culture Ministers of the CPLP, Cornélio Caley said the ministry has worked with international institutions that have facilitated the signing of some agreements in order to qualify for funds.

When asked about the museum sector in the country, the deputy culture minister stressed that, through the National Department of Museums, were elaborated programmes and projects that aim to recover essentially museums already existed, indicating the possible collections which should fill these museums, as well as indicating that the provinces should host the cores for museums.

Cornélio Caley said that the lack of specialists in museum-related issues is one of the biggest problems that the country has faced.

He added that the country has seven museums, although they do not meet modern requirements.
