Kilamba Kiaxi carnival groups seek return to Class A

Luanda – The carnival groups based in Luanda’s Kilamba Kiaxi municipality are working hard to return to Class A, after they were demoted to a lower rank in 2011, Angop learned Tuesday here.

This was said by the member of the local commission of the carnival, João Francisco Filho.

Speaking to Angop, João Francisco Filho said the Kilamba Kiaxi’s five groups are preparing to take the five first places in the competition of the year, seeking their transition back into the Class A central parade in 2013.

“During last year’s parade, our group failed a position that enabled them pass into Class A, while one of them, “União Café de Angola”, did not qualify to stay put,” he stated.

To João Francisco Filho, this year things will be different for his community’s groups that, he added, are working hard to come up with new attractions, in terms of allegories and choreography.
