Culture Ministry honours carnival groups

Luanda – The Ministry of Culture will pay homage on Thursday here carnival groups of União Angola Independente (Luanda) and União Surpresa do I.M-S (Bié), for their contribution to preservation and valorisation of this folk festival.

 

União Angola Independente group was founded on 8 January in 1978 by youth aged 14-16 in Kilamba Kiaxi locality, namely Venâncio João, Adelino Gonçalves, Domingos Miguel, Adriano Luís, Jorge Boaventura, Manuel Inácio, Rita Kayamena and Juliana Alfredo.

 

União Surpresa do IMS group was founded by political, patriotic, cultural and recreational leaders of post independence period in Angola.
